Chapter 7

Kevin went to the living room, the other two following him. “How’s your girlfriend?” he asked Dylan and sat on the couch. He reached for the remote on the coffee table and turned the television on.

“She’s fine,” he said and looked away. “I’m starting to not like her, though. One time I caught her telling her friends that I groped her boobs. The thing is that we agreed we wouldn’t do anything until we were together for at least half a year. You know, until we know each other better.” He sighed. “But she went ahead and lied just to make herself look good.”

Kevin raised his brows to his forehead. His relationship had gone way beyond that, but he wouldn’t tell his brother. “Did you talk to her about it?”

Dylan shrugged. “I’m not into drama, so I just said I didn’t like it. If we break up, I’m going to get myself someone older. At least mentally mature,” he complained and looked at Kevin. “Actually, she might need someone immature in order to relate herself.”

Uri looked down and back at Dylan. “If you talk like that, it must mean that she’s no good for you. I’d say you shouldn’t force yourself to like someone,” he murmured.

Kevin warned him, “Whether you stay with her or not, don’t do anything you’ll regret later.” He changed the channels and slumped on the couch. “I’m so tired.” Since he was between two tall guys, he felt like leaning on one of them. His brother would most likely shove him away, so he tilted to Uri’s side.

“Are you going to make out?” Dylan asked, grinning at his brother. “I wouldn’t mind watching.”

Uri stared at him. “I never thought a straight guy would say such a thing,” he said, resting his arm on Kevin’s shoulders.

“I’m bi,” Dylan shot back and crossed his legs. “If you want some time alone, I can leave.”

Kevin held his forearm. “You should stay. We’re not together as often as we should be,” he said quietly, already dragging his words. “By the way, I’m going to the shape-shifter world soon. Do you want to come along? They might like your style.”

For the first time in a while, Dylan widened his eyes. “Yes, I’d like to go. Don’t forget you asked me to come along, understood?” he demanded.

“Of course,” Kevin said, smiling. “You’re going to meet the rulers of that world. They’re the ones who helped me and Uri return.” At that moment, he just wanted to sleep. He also needed to eat something, but he had been too tired.

“You’ve been there already?” Dylan looked at his brother and Uri nodding. “What’s it like there?”

Kevin pursed his lips. “Well, for starters, everywhere looks like an exotic island. There are five islands. The shifters in that world are kind, and they like humans,” he mumbled. “I’m going to sleep.” He covered a yawn and looked up at the shifter. “Do you want to stay over tonight? My bed is big enough for the both of us.
